Roulette Strategy is more like a roulette myth in that there is no real way to make money from roulette. There is however a few things you can do such that you don’t increase the house edge while playing. According to The Wizard of Odds if you select the first 5 numbers the house edge increases to 7.89% while all other players result in a consistent 5.26% house edge for American Roulette.

If you have a choice of roulette game then you should always take the European roulette version over the American roulette. European roulette has only a 2.7% house edge for each play because there is no double zero which the American version has that doubles the house edge. When playing roulette online you should always avoid the double zero as it means you’ll lose at a faster rate.

Does the Martingale betting system work?

You can’t really make money with roulette unless you own the casino. You certainly cannot rig the game to give yourself an advantage so the game is a constant uphill battle against the house. The martingale system proposes that you double your bets after every loss with the gambling theory that you will eventually win. This only works if you have an infinite bankroll and the house didn’t have a maximum bet at the table, which most do of about $300 or $500. Roulette should be a leisure game of entertainment and not to be taken too seriously. If you play you’ll hope to pick a number like 8 and hope you hit for a big payout. Otherwise it is a fun casino game to play to pass the time and make some entertainment out of each bet.
